May

Oh May. This month was one I would rather not remember. This is the reason that I keep this blog though. Right now when I think about this month, I think about how rough it was. But as I look through these pictures and think about all the inbetween moments I see how wonderful it was.

May started out with the stomach flu moving through our house. Again!! Seriously we have had more sickness in our house since Eliza was born than we have had in the past two years. I spent a lot of time cleaning up throw up and diarrhea. (sorry TMI but I want my kids to read this one day and be ssuuupppeerr grateful for what a wonderful mother I am) Most of it happened in the middle of the night. All while I was feeling sick myself. Not some of my happiest moments.

We did squeeze in a really fun Cinco De Mayo party. We decorated a little bit. I made enchiladas, chips and queso, guacamole and rice. For dessert we had churro cookies. It was so much fun! We ended the night by watching CoCo. Different holiday, but we love any excuse to watch that movie.

Abby had her end of the year concert and it was the best! She was so cute and brave up there. She sang the songs and did all the actions and didn’t try to hide behind people. It was the best. I always get so emotional at those things. I can’t get over what a beautiful girl she is. Next time we go to one of those concerts we will be watching Juliet and Abby!!

The first 3 weeks of May Kyle work every single day except for the Sundays. That was long. The Saturday before mothers day when kyle got home from work we headed out to the Superstition Springs mall. The girls had a blast playing on the playground and riding the carousel. On our way home we stopped to check out the Toys R Us that was going out of business. Kyle took the girls in and I nursed Eliza in the car. She had the biggest blowout EVER! All over her and me. And of course I was totally unprepared. No extra clothes. Very minimal wipes. And no size 1 diapers. Luckily I had some size 4 stocked in the car from before Jane was potty trained. Kyle had to buy her an outfit in Toys R Us. We went to eat Boca Taqueria after and I had to go in with a dress covered in poop. It was a great early Mother’s Day gift.

The world kind of turned upside down for a few weeks while we debated a possible move to Durango Colorado. That was very overwhelming.

Abby turned 7! That was an awesome day. It was the last day of school and a half day. I made it through the crazy 11 weeks of school drop off and pick up with a newborn. It was pretty crazy, but we survived it. We picked up Abby and her friend Grace from school. We played at home until Kyle got home and then headed over to Peter Piper Pizza to celebrate. The girls had so much fun and everyone came to party with us. Abby loved it. It was fun celebrating that sweet girl. She is the best!

We blessed Eliza. Eliza’s blessing morning was pretty crazy. We have 8:00am church, which can be kind of crazy getting everyone ready and out of the door. Lets be real though, getting 6 people ready and out the door for anything at anytime is rough. At 5:30 that morning Tim called because Kelly had fainted and knocked two teeth out. Kyle rushed to Tempe to meet them at his office and get those teeth back in! He saved the day and made it back home in time to shower and get to church. Then once we got to church the organist didn’t show up and Kyle was asked to fill in. So he had to sight read all of the music on the Organ that day. But even with all of the crazy he gave our sweet girl the sweetest blessing. Everyone in the circle said that she just smiled and cooed the entire time. She really is a calm, gentle spirit. We are so lucky to have Eliza!!

Lacee graduated from High School that same week. Valerie watched Abby, Jules and Jane so I only had to take Eliza. She was an angel! It was nice to be able to be there to support Lacee Lou. I can’t believe she is graduated and getting ready to put in her mission papers.

The month ended with memorial  day! We had a fun time swimming at my parents house and a yummy dinner.

Then Kyle headed out to Boston on May 31st for a continuing education. 3 nights on my own with 4 kids!! I was nervous but it went well.  I don’t know if I could have done it without Nettie stepping in to help me. She was there to help put the girls to bed two nights. I did church on Sunday all by myself! Not only where we on time, but we were early!! I was very proud of myself. I don’t think anyone would have blamed me if we missed all of church or at least sacrament meeting. But we did it! I hope my girls know why I do this. Church and the gospel mean everything to me. I have a very strong testimony of being where you are supposed to so that the spirit can guide you. Even when it is hard.

That was May. I feel like the past year every month has passed with me feeling like it was really rough, but also awesome? How is that possible? I am feeling more and more like myself every week. I’ve been working hard to get my mind back to its thriving, growing, mentally tough self. Growing and having babies takes a big toll on me. But I feel like I’ve come out stronger each time. I love this family. They are worth every sacrifice.

We all went in to get our teeth cleaned at the beginning of May. The girls did great! Our dentist is pretty awesome. ;)

Soaking up the last of the park days. Its just got hotter and hotter as the month went on!

Abby loves to sit in the front seat with my glasses on and pretend she is driving. Cracks me up every time!

Listening to her read is the best!

I like to call her little miss no nap. She is wearing me out!!

Abby is the best big sister!! I lean on her so much. She really has stepped up to the plate since Eliza was born.

Chunky Monkey!!

Cinco De Mayo Party

Abby helper her sister draw those pictures. I didn't have the heart to tell her that those were for a totally different holiday. So we proudly displayed them.

2 months!

This was one of the sweetest moments. My friend sent this to me about Juliet. I really wish I could take credit, but Juliet just came that way. So full of love for every single person. I am learning so much from her.

Baking with mommy is so fun!

Abby and her friend Grace.

Last day of Preschool! I get so emotional thinking about her starting school. She is growing so fast and I feel like I'm missing it. Poor Jules gets lost in the shuffle a lot. She isn't as loud and needy as her sisters. I wish I could just spend an entire day talking and snuggling with her. She is the best.

The big sisters love this baby. The like to treat her like a little baby doll. I have to remind them a lot that she is not a toy.

She really hardly ever cries. Ever. I caught a few pictures of it though because it is the cutest thing ever.

Working on tummy time. She likes to give up and suck on her fingers.

This carousel made them so happy!

Random history exhibit in the mall. It was a cool plane!

So many helpers!

My mothers day gift!

Mothers day 2018

Piano lessons! Kyle was home during piano lessons so Abby and I rode our bikes over and I stayed to listen. Abby is getting so good. Her piano teacher Annie is the sweetest.

Abby got a lot of birthday cards and she cherished every single one. Cards are the way to this girls heart.

Family home evening treat at Water 'N Ice. Why do kids always choose the most offensive color of ice cream?

Juliet and Jane got to open the Disney store. It was pretty cute. When they asked who was someone that had magic other than mickey mouse Juliet said "Jesus!!!" We got a good kick out of that one!

Making protein poppers. Sooooooo good!

The best visit from Grandma and Grandpa country.

Eliza's shirt says "My aunt is the best". Very very true!

Last day of 1st grade and her 7th birthday. Insert ugly cry. She is growing so fast.

Peter Piper Pizza

Eliza's circle minus Brother Phelps and Uncle Joey.
