Kindergarten Graduation/ Abby's Birthday

Abby Graduated from Kindergarten on her birthday!! It was a very special day. I always get a little more emotional on Abby's birthday because in a way it is a birthday for our whole family. It was the day that mommy and daddy were born too. This past year with Abby has been full of so much growth for her. She went into kindergarten not fully prepared. But she worked hard and finished off the year right on pace with where she needed to be. I am proud of her, because it wasn't easy, but she did it.

She came so far socially too. At the beginning of the year she was so scared and so painfully shy. Although she can still be shy in some situations, she has broken out of her shell SO much!!! She is so much braver, so much happier and so much stronger. I have loved seeing her conquer her fears. Way to work hard Abby!

She is so ready for 1st grade. I am loving having her at home! Even if I can't keep up with her very creative projects!

Abby woke up extra early on her birthday. She was just a little bit excited. It was fun to snuggle with her in bed and listen to her talk. She is fantastic.

I did convince her to wear this dress (she wanted to wear mismatched clothes, which is kind of her fashion speciality) but she did her own hair. She is so independent! And so remarkably beautiful!

I love these sisters!

Abby and Miss. Pate her kindergarten teacher.

Running across the stage after getting her "diploma"

Abby and Olivia. These two were the best of friends! Abby always called her "my tiny friend" even though is much taller than Abby. Ha ha! They will be moving this summer and we will miss her. They really clicked and were good for each other.

I seriously love this girl.

After the graduation we went to top golf for lunch! Abby had never been and she loved it. It was the first time I got to see her play. Kyle has been doing such a good job teaching her. She was pretty good!

Eventually they lost interest and just played in these little cubbies.

Abby really really wanted me to take this picture.

Grandma and Grandpa came the graduation and top golf with us. It was so fun to have them!

First day of school versus last day of school.

That night we had a birthday party with family for Abby! She was so excited and it was really fun. We opened presents, had cake and ice cream and then had a piñata.

The decorations!

The cake and extra cupcakes

Abby was so funny opening her presents. Its really shows the difference in Abby and Juliets personalities. Juliet opens them and screams and gets so excited about every. single. one. She throws everything everywhere and just makes it into a big show. Abby was very systematic. She would open it see what it was and put it in an organized pile. She didn't comment on anything she just moved onto the next one. Then at the end she really got excited about everything she got.

She has wanted the Elena Dress since Halloween. I was so excited to see her face when she realized what it was and it didn't disappoint.

Everyone eating their cake and ice cream. I loved my dad sitting next to the girls on the bench.

These were the only pictures I got of the piñata. The kids all loved it.

It was a very perfect day! I am so proud of my sweet girl. I know how fast these years are going to keep going and I want to just remember her how she is right now. She is the best protector of her sisters. She is an awesome problem solver. She makes my whole life happy. I don't know how I would make it through the day without her.

I love you Abby! Have fun being six!

The first half of May

May has been so much more relaxed than April, but still busy and a lot of fun. The only downside has been an awful sickness we can't seem to kick out of our house! Here is the phone dump and all the sweet moments from the first half of the month.

We got to Preschool a little early one morning and juliet was sitting in the front seat with me. She was singing and using her little hands so expressively like she always done. I couldn't take a video because we were listening to the music through my phone. But I snapped a bunch of pictures to try and capture how sweet and expressive she is. I always want to remember her like this!

My amazing friend Whitlee asked me to come out and help her do an install at one of her houses she has designed. And seriously it was amazing. This house was out of this world. Up on a big hill by South Mountain with the most incredible view. The couple that own it own a huge cement company. They did all the cement work for the Gilbert Temple. They are loaded. The light fixture in this photo has a hand painted class covering that goes over the bulbs and is worth $100,000!! Just that light fixture in that hallway. Like seriously the house was amazing! And Whitlee is good at her job. It was so fun to watch her and see what she had created.

We  got our ceiling fans in!! We love them! It is so nice to have light in all the bed rooms and fans. It is going to make the biggest difference this summer.

Poor Abby started the horrible cold in our family. It was a nasty one. Abby has missed more school in the past month than she has the whole year. It was bring a pillow and blanket day to school when she started acting sick. She had been up all night and she was so worried about missing this fun day at school. She woke up feeling a little better. So I let her go to school, but around 11:30 the school called and she had a fever. She was bawling her eyes out and SOOO mad that she had to go home. I had to physically pick her up and carry her out of the school. It broke my heart.

Then the cold slowly moved through the rest of us. It was a bummer.

One my of favorite things singing with Kyle. I also love Juliet and Jane playing together in the background.

Jane cracks us up. She likes to wear her swimming suit and goggles as much as possible. She also likes to cry. A lot.

One Saturday we made a puppet show! It was so fun making them and watching the girls put the show on. It was a lot of fun. Saturdays have been really rough for me lately. I really struggle with Kyle working this weird schedule. I really am trying to find joy in the journey. I don't like waiting for "when _____ happens then I'll be happy". If you live your life waiting for certain things or circumstances to be happy then its likely you won't ever be happy. Things are never going to be perfect. For the most part I really do well with this! But not Saturdays. I have not found a routine that works with Abby in school and Kyle working a weird schedule. It will be like this for another year. So I am working hard to make Saturdays a day to look forward to and to keep working to find a routine that works and takes us from survival mode to thriving.

Abby made a drumset. She is the most creative person. I love watching her. If you give her the room to create she will blow you away.

Naps!

I love making these slider sandwiches. Everyone likes them, but Abby has a hard time eating them because they do get your hands messy. And she seriously can't handle it.

I repainted our front door! It looks SOOOO much better.

How do you watch your tv shows?

I loved this picture Juliet drew at preschool!

Abby had her school spring concert. She looked so beautiful. She let me do her hair and we put some red lipstick and a little mascara on. She is going to be the most beautiful woman!

I don't know how I will handle her accomplishment as she grows up. I cry through these kindergarten concerts. I am so proud of her!

These two are the best friends. I asked them to stand together so I could take a picture of their crowns and they did this without being directed. Juliet adores her sisters.

Juliet brought this home from preschool. My favorite was: my mom always says Juliet be nice. I love that her teacher put a smiley face next to it. When I am saying it to Jules I'm not saying it with a smile on me face. ha ha!!

So Jane stopped sleeping in her crib. She learned how to climb out and it was all over. No more naps or anything. It is the worst!! But we moved her mattress in to the girls room one night just to see how she would do. She passed right out. This will make traveling with her so much easier.

She falls asleep in the car a lot now because she is so tired all day! And grouchy. Like really grouchy.

Teaching the girls to shuck corn!

Dinner making dance party. Seriously one of my favorite things.

On friday night we were headed out as a family to go to Ikea to get some stuff for the house. As we were loading everyone up my dad asked if he could watch the girls. We said of course!! So we were able to go out and have a really fun ikea date night! The girls had a blast with their Poppi too.

Lacee went to prom! I got to help my mom take pictures of them and the group. It was so much fun. Lacee and Zach are a cute couple and it was a blast to photograph them.

Mother's day!! Mother's day was the best. Kyle had gotten me flowers and some yummy cookies from the sweet tooth fairy bakery. He also sat down with the girls and interviewed them about me. That was really sweet. The girls spent all day making me cards and being so sweet. Church was awesome and we had dinner at my parent's house. It was a perfect day. I love being a mom so much.

This picture made me laugh. I pulled out my wallet and someone had stuck a veggie straw in it. So funny!

One morning my brain wasn't working. Somehow we showed up 15 minutes early to pick up Juliet from preschool. I definitely thought we were late and was rushing to get over there. So weird. So Jane and I played at the park together for a little bit.

I had a big camp certification activity at my house. That was a lot of fun.

I took Juliet and Jane to do the zoo. It was one of the last beautiful days we are going to have this summer. So we took advantage. Abby was at school and yes I had major guilt over it. Juliet didn't make it any easier. She kept saying how she wished Abby was there. And asking me if next time we could bring Abby. Juliet is one loyal sister! We had a great time. We saw lots of animals including this cool turtle that was cruising all over the place. We had a picnic lunch and were able to play at the splash pad! On the way home we stopped in daddy's office and said hi! Juliet made sure to get Abby a toy out of the toy chest. She is the sweetest to her sisters.

Passed out on the way home from the zoo.

This is us every morning. Cereal and disneyland videos. As Abby says we need to get prepared. For the trip that is still months away. #raisingthemright

Kyle went to use the bathroom in the girls bathroom and found this...Easily one of the best things we have discovered as parents. I would have loved to have known her thought process as she thought "I'm going to tape this picture to the toilet!". Its a picture of her golfing with daddy.

Kyle took Abby out to play a real round of golf. She loved it! I love that they get to do this together. Its really fun.

With Jane being able to get out of bed she gets up earlier and has been waking up her sisters. This particular morning Juliet was very much not ready to get woken up. Ha ha!

We had a movie night at discovery park with friends! So much fun! Do mind Jane baby in her swimsuit. She loves to be in her "soot"

Abby had a double ear infection! We started to think she might have one Saturday night. Sunday morning on Mother's day we were sure of it. Kyle took her in and we got her on antibiotics right away. Luckily they have made those antibiotics taste really good (or so abby tells me). She hates taking medicine! But she has been awesome with these antibiotics.

I texted Kyle to see how it was going and he sent me about 10 of these pictures. These were my favorites. They have the same face. Seriously.

Kyle and My grandpy went out golfing one morning. I love that they do that together. Kyle has such a weird schedule that its hard for him to find people to golf with. Luckily my grandpy can go whenever and he loves it! We are going to miss them this summer while they are up in Utah.

Well that was the first half of May. Coming up we have Abby's 6th birthday, kindergarten graduation and Memorial Day!
