I had this written down in journal, and I lost that journal... I just found it again and I want to get it on here before I lose it again because it was a day that I always want to remember.
Wednesday September 29th, 2010 was one of the best days of my life. I had been sick for about four days and we had been trying to get pregnant now for a year. We had gotten pregnant right when we first started trying but I miscarried very early in the pregnancy. Since then it had been a year and every month I would start to imagine all of the symptoms of pregnancy and every month I would be disappointed. I had come to the point that I was determined to not take another pregnancy test until I was 100% sure I was pregnant. I just couldn't handle looking at another negative pregnancy test. But I had been feeling so sick the past few days, and I was very late. I didn't have the flu, it felt different than that. I finally decided that if this was all in my head I needed to see the negative pregnancy test so that I could move on and this weird sickness would go away. I sent Kyle off to school because every time I got a negative test I would be sad for a little while, and I didn't want him to see that...again. So he left and had no idea I was going to take a test. I took it and got an immediate positive. I grabbed the box and kept checking to make sure that it meant what I thought it meant. It was so unreal. It finally hit me that this was real and I started crying, this time they were happy tears! I couldn't believe that I was actually going to be a mommy, and I guess this weird sickness was not going to be going anywhere for a long time! I started trying to think of how I was going to tell Kyle, just then he called me. He never calls me when he is driving to school so I was very surprised. I tried to control my voice because I didn't want him to know I was crying and answered. He had to ask me a question and I answered it. I didn't want to tell him he was going to be a dad for the first time over the phone but I was just bursting with excitement and I can't keep anything from him. So I told him I had some good news, and immediately he knew what I was talking about. Both of us started crying and couldn't believe that this was really happening. We talked until he got to school, then I got ready and met him a couple hours later for our institute class. Both of us couldn't stop grinning we were so excited. We couldn't really talk in institute so after we went out to lunch, the only thing that sounded good in the slightest was a salad with thousand island dressing so we went to restaurant near by that I knew had a really good salad. We had a really fun time trying to figure out my due date, and how far along I was. Both of us were trying to guess if we were having a girl or a boy. We figured I was about 6 weeks along, and I knew that I couldn't keep this a secret from our families so we decided we would tell them that night, although we knew we wanted to wait to tell everyone until I was at least 12 weeks. We went to my house first and gathered my family into one room and told them I was pregnant. It was fun to see everyone's reactions. Tragdon's was the best when I told him there was a baby in my tummy he looked at me with a very concerned face and asked me "why did you eat the baby?" After lots of hugs we went over to the Cordner's house. We both called our grandparents on the way over and told them the news. It was very fun to tell the Cordners because Kyle is always telling them we're pregnant, when we weren't. So at first no one believed him when he first said it, they all looked at me and I had to say it was really true this time. That day was so exciting and such a wonderful blessing. We are so excited to get to meet our little baby!!!
