Jane is 2

Dear sweet Jane Baby,

I can't believe you are two years old. It went by so fast. You are the most darling girl. I absolutely love getting you out of bed each morning. I hear you talking in your crib and I open the door to hear a big happy "mommy!" Big smiles and hugs and a demand that I change your "pew pews" (stinky diaper) You refuse to eat breakfast and spend the entire morning being super grouchy because you are so hungry. Its kind of the worst. You want to be held. All. the. time. I am starting to get sore hips from packing you around all the time! You are most certainly the baby. You are so loving. You give the best hugs. Your vocabulary has been growing every single day. I love hearing you talk. Anytime we are watching anything you say "what happening" over and over and over again. Its hilarious. You say "I'm sorry mom" over everything. Its so cute. Its making things easier to be able to communicate with you more and more.

You love your sisters. More than anything else. Especially Juliet. Your relationship the past few months has been becoming stronger and stronger. You two will spend hours together. You follow whatever it is she wants you to do. She loves it and she loves you. One day I was on the phone and you were crying really hard. I couldn't hold you because I was on an important call. Juliet kept complaining about how loud you were crying and I told her to ignore you and go somewhere quite if she needed to. Well she ignored me. She got down on the ground with you and stroked your hair and said "shh, shh, its ok Jane, its ok." Over and over again. She had you so relaxed and calmed down by the time I got off the phone. You are so loved by those two big sisters. They do a lot to protect you and take care of you.

You are very independent. You are have zero fear. You see someone do something and you immediately think "I could do that" and you go for it. Always keep that attitude! Its very impressive, even if it gives me a lot of heart attacks.

You are seriously the most precious thing. I love how much you want to be close to me. I cherish being your mother. I am grateful for the front row seat I have in watching you grow and learn and be the best you can be. We need you in our family Jane. You are the sweetest little girl. This next year is going to be the best yet!

You will follow Juliet anywhere. I love how much you want to be like her. She is a good example to follow.

I just want to remember everything about your tiny little person right now. Your hands and your feet. Your smile and your cheeks and your big brown eyes. I always want to remember the sound of your voice. It breaks my heart to think how much I've already forgotten, about you and your sisters. I love you all so much. I know I am not the perfect parent, but I love you all with all my heart.

Rocky Point

We had the funnest trip to Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco) last week! The Stapley office hit their goals last year so the entire staff got a trip to Mexico. My parents had been a couple times last year and fell in love. I've always heard of people going to Rocky Point but I'd heard lots of horror stories. We had the easiest time getting in to Mexico and getting to the resort. It took us less that 4 hours to get to this beautiful place! We will going back lots in the future.

We got there about dinner time Thursday night. We had some dinner and went to swim for just a little bit. Then we got settled in for the night. Our rooms were so cool. We were up on the fourth floor and had a really cool two bedroom suite. The view from the balcony was breathtaking.

I got up early Friday morning and went running in the gym. Then I walked out along the beach. The tide was so cool!! It would go way out and the sand was so soft! There were a bunch of rocks with hermit crabs all over them. Then the tide would come way in close to the resort and we would play in the waves and collect sea shells. After I explored a little bit I went back up and started getting breakfast ready. Everyone came up to our room for french toast and bacon.

Then we all got our swim stuff on and spent the whole day at the beach and in the pool. It was so much fun!! That night we went to dinner at this really fun taco place. It was pretty good!

The next day was all pool and beach again. Luckily it was Master's weekend so Kyle was willing to stay in the room while Jane napped. I played hard with Juliet and Abby! We had a great time! We found so many shells. It was a good time. That night we had a big dinner at this restaurant on the beach with all of the Stapley staff. It was a blast. The setting was so beautiful and I had my camera, so we got some really great pictures. It was a great night.

We got up Sunday and went to Sacrament meeting there in the town. It was such a cool experience. It was actually the first time I have gone to church out of the Country. It was all in Spanish. There wasn't anyone playing prelude and we started to realize that they didn't have a pianist. We saw another visitor asking if they needed someone to play the piano and Kyle volunteered. He is so amazing. The first two songs were ones we recognized and were pretty simple. The last one was a Spanish hymn we didn't recognize at all! Kyle rocked it though. It was cool to see my husband step up like that. It was fast Sunday and it was so neat to see people get up and bare their testimonies in Spanish. I often wonder how the gospel works in different cultures. I have spent pretty much my entire life in the western united states. The culture of the church is so similar everywhere there. But here in this little town that couldn't be more different from where I lived these beautiful women stood up there and became so emotional as they bore their testimonies. I could recognize some words, like temple, Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. It was a really neat experience. God loves us all!

Then we went back loaded up the cars and drove back home. It took us a little longer to get back home. We had to pull over and clean Jane up after she barfed 45 minutes into our drive home. We got stopped at 3 different check points on the way back into the United States. It was quick stops, but it slowed us down a bit.

It was a fun quick trip! I can't wait to go back there again.

I love this picture of my dad and Jules. He is the best grandpa.

her swimsuit weggie!

My mom and Abby. Seriously my girls are so lucky to have the best grandparents!

Jane would just lay down in the sand and rest.

Our little set up. The resort was pretty empty so we had plenty of space to ourselves.

The view from our room as the tide was going out.

Playing on the beach during dinner

This little kiddy pool was right outside my parents door. They were on the ground floor so the girls had a lot of fun swimming in here.
