Exciting New Year

This was one of the best holidays I have ever had! Christmas was absolutely perfect, we spent Christmas Eve and early Christmas morning with my family. We had a fun Christmas Eve with a huge and wonderful dinner and then nativity play followed by sitting in the hot tub (only a little bit for me) and singing Christmas songs at the top of our lungs. Christmas morning was amazing, baby got some really fun presents and Kyle and I hit the jack pot. We have the most wonderful parents! They do so much for us and we are so grateful for all that they do for us!

Then we had Anika's birthday, she is the cutest little girl and she makes me so excited to be an aunt. I just LOVE her and going on walks to look at Christmas lights with her!

Then came New Years Eve which was one really really big party. All of my mom's brothers and sisters were able to come down to visit. My grandparents are serving a mission in Florida so its fun for all of us to make the effort to still get together. We had about 35 people, the majority of them under the age of 12 running around my parents house. It was a blast!

2010 was a really hard year for us. We are grateful that it is over and we can start out this new and exciting chapter in our lives. Kyle will graduate from ASU this year, we will apply to dental school and most exciting we will welcome our little baby into the world this year!

Here is my 20 week picture, I'm still in my regular jeans, with plenty of room before they get tight, but you can tell I am starting to get a little belly.
But the most excited news we had this holiday season came after New Years. It was hard for us to enjoy the end of the holidays because we were so excited for what was going to come right after them. We had our doctors appointment for the 20 week ultrasound and we are so pleased to announce that we are going to be having a baby....

We are so excited and can not wait for her to get here so we can kiss that cute little face!

She would not stop moving around during the entire ultrasound, the tech had to keep poking her to get her to move around so that she could get the pictures that she needed. In this one she has her knee touching her nose... I'm glad that she is more flexible than her mom!

I know I may be a little bit biased but I already think she is the cutest thing ever! We are so excited to meet her!

Crazy weekend!

This weekend my parents celebrated their 22nd anniversary by taking a trip to Santa Barbara to run a half marathon. They needed this trip, a nice relaxing vacation for just the two of them. I was determined to let them enjoy their weekend, and not have them worry about anything... that didn't last too long. I took lacee to a birthday party in my families old neighborhood Vintage Ranch. It was supposed to get over at 8, she was supposed to call me when it was over. Well I didn't get a call until about 8:30, and it was her friend Jessica telling me that lacee had fallen and that she had hurt her shoulder really bad. Kyle and I went and got her, and she was in so much pain she couldn't even move her shoulder. She was swollen and bruised all along her collar bone, Kyle took a look at it and could tell that it was most likely broken. I called my parents and told them I needed their health insurance information... my decision to not bother my parents all weekend... right out the window. We decided to take her to urgent care, it was 8:55 and they closed at 9:00. They said that they couldn't see her because I wasn't her mother. I had all of the insurance information, and they weren't willing to work with us. They even told us the only ER that would maybe see us was Phoenix Childrens Hospital. I was not happy with them, and I made sure they knew it. They were going to turn away this poor little girl, who was obviously in a lot of pain basically telling us there was practically nothing we could do and no one would see us. We took Lacee home, hoping that we could maybe make her comfortable and get her to sleep for the night and we could try another urgent care in the morning. We got home, put Halee and Tragdon to bed and we got in bed. At about 11:00 Lacee started screaming in pain and we realized there was no way she could last through the night, we were going to have to try the ER. We went to Gilbert Mercy, even though I swore I would NEVER go back to the hospital again. The service is horrible, the place is filthy and I spent the most horrible night of my life there. I am the ER expert having spent the night in the ER 4 times with kyle this year and then once with Lacee. So I know that the ER doesn't have to be a horrible experience, but at Gilbert Mercy it has to be a miserable experience. But we knew lacee needed something to be done, and we needed to know for sure what was wrong. We waiting an hour and half to see the doctor when it turns out there had been a miscommunication and they thought a doctor had already been in to see her. This poor little girl had to sit for an hour and half without any pain medication while she was in severe pain. Finally they gave her some pain medication and told us they were going to take some x-rays. By this point it is 1 in the morning. They took some x-rays and the technician let us look at them and there was no question about it, that was a very broken collar bone. We now had to wait for the doctor to look at them and come and tell us for sure that it was broken. We didn't leave until 2 in the morning. So now Lacee is in a sling until after Christmas. She has been such a good sport about it though. No more basketball for awhile, or guitar, or cello, or piano. She is going to be a lot less busy. It was a very eventful weekend for us! I'm glad my parents were still able to enjoy their weekend, but we are very glad to have them home!

Dear baby,

I got an email yesterday from parents.com telling me that I should start feeling better this week, so I think we should go ahead and make the sickness go away. When I went to the doctor today they said I had lost weight, I could have told them that because all of my clothes are too big, instead of getting tight. But the good news is we got to listen to your heartbeat and the doctor said it was strong, and that you are perfectly healthy. Well my little peanut if we can't feel better this week, lets try and shoot for next week. Thanksgiving is coming very soon and mommy loves Thanksgiving.

Have I changed?

Kyle and I were looking at pictures of us since we first met, which has been about 2 and half years. He look really different and I look exactly the same. I started looking at pictures from high school and I look exactly the same since then! I was wondering if anyone could put these pictures in order. Its not as obvious as you would think. These pictures are from when I was a sophomore in high school up to just this past summer. Please leave a comment and see if you can put them in order!

World Record

Get ready for the worlds longest blog post!

I wanted to start with a quote from our institute class

This quote fits our lives perfectly. Last Christmas our lives were perfect, we had our live perfectly planned out and knew exactly what we wanted to do. Everything was falling into place, and then in just one small moment our lives completely changed. Last Christmas we were living with the Cordners and looking for a new place to live, Kyle was getting ready to take his Kaplan class for the MCAT, he was going to take it in April and then start apply to medical schools. He was going to graduate this May and we would hopefully be going to medical school a year from now. Two days after Christmas all of that changed and our lives are nothing like what they were before Christmas. The next 7 months were the most difficult of our lives. Kyle lost about 40lbs in a very short amount of time, we had a lot of Doctors visits, ER visits, an endoscopy, colonoscopy and a videoscopy. Finally after months of worry and trying really hard to stay positive our lives are slowly returning to normal. The doctors have tentatively labeled Kyle with Inflammatory Bowel Disease, but they are not one hundred percent sure. We are going to wait and see if he continues to improve, but for about the past two months things have been wonderful. This experience has changed the way we think about our lives, how we plan things and has changed what we want for the future. Our plans are slowly starting to rebuild in a very different way, but we have faith that this is what the Lord wants us to do. We moved into a wonderful townhouse, we are in a wonderful ward, I am the new beehive advisor and I LOVE IT!!! Kyle is trying to be a good sport about his sunbeam class :) Kyle is back in school and is going to graduate a year from Christmas. He is now getting ready to start his Kaplan class for the DAT which he will take in the Spring and then we will start applying for dental schools, and we will hopefully be going to dental school (fingers cross for Ohio State) in the fall of 2012. Life is full of adventures, trials, and especially blessings.

We went to a Diamondbacks game awhile ago, my baby brother is one cool dude!
Carson wants to be just like Kyle in every way, kyle is a really good example to him as you can see from the picture below.
This is my little cousin Lynlee, she is the sweetest little girl in the entire world. The baseball she is holding was given to her by one of the umpires, he picked her out of the crowd and brought the ball right to her, it was really cute.
Below is the biggest waste of two dollars. But its funny.

This was Kyle's first day of school picture! Isn't he so cute! It has been so fun to have him back in school working hard and doing so well. All of those ASU girls better stay away, I know he is ridiculously good looking, but he is mine.
