Vail pt. 1

We spent the last week of break in Vail. All thanks to Tim and Kelly who were generous enough to let us use some timeshare points so we had somewhere awesome to stay! We had a nice little one bedroom suite. The no air-conditioning really scared me at first. But they had the little unit you can see in the picture below that kept the living area (which was also where the girls slept) nice and cool and we had a big fan in our room that kept it nice.

We had this nice balcony that we hardly used because Kyle and I were so nervous the girls were going to crawl/fall through the railing. It wasn't very safe! But we sat out there a couple times in the evening after they were asleep and it was so nice! I would come back and read out there after my runs while everyone was still sleeping. The air smelled delicious. I love the mountains.

This little girls is the happiest baby. She is such a joy. We seriously can't get over how lucky we are.

Abby loved sitting in this little area and looking at all the pictures.

The area around our hotel was incredible. We were actually staying in Avon, which is a little west of Vail. There was so much to do that was walking distance from the hotel. It was perfect.

This park was about a 5 minute walk from our Hotel. It was a really cool play ground. It also had a big grassy area with a huge stage and a lake and a creek. We had a lot of fun playing on the playground and exploring.

There was an incredible running path that went for miles and miles along this river. I had a great time. The first day I went hardly 3 miles in about 45 minutes because I kept stopping to take pictures and sit by the river. It was so beautiful. After that I was a little more serious about running. The last day we were there I ran 9 miles. Like it was nothing! At almost double my usual elevation. I was really proud of myself. But its easy when there is so much to look at.

We were in Vail for Sunday so we went to the Vail ward and it was such a neat experience. It was a tiny little building and there is only the one ward for the whole area. The chapel didn't have pews it just had soft folding chairs set up. it looked like the chapel also double as their multipurpose room. We were thinking about staying for all 3 hours, but no one showed up for the nursery. There are only two kids in the nursery normally so we assumed they were out of town so they didn't have any leaders prepared. So we decided to head back to the hotel.

So really random we were sitting down waiting for sacrament meeting to start and this little family walks in. I did a double take because I recognized them but didn't know why. Then I saw the mom and realized she was one of my favorite bloggers! She was Taza (naomi davis) from Rockstar Diaries! I was a little star struck. I was going to talk to her after church but she disappeared to feed her baby and I never saw her again.

This is the view from the door to the church. So beautiful there!

A little after church selfie.

Steamboat Springs

We weren't in any hurry on our way home and we have always wanted to explore more of Steamboat Springs. So we stopped and did a little hike. We love to hike, and luckily our girls love it too. It was a really short hike. Less than a quarter mile to the waterfall. Abby and Jules wanted to climb down into river and throw rocks and put their feet in. I love seeing my girls get excited about an adventure. I hope they never lose that!

So incredibly beautiful!

This is the view from the top of the mountain on the way out. It was super windy!

It was so fun to see a little bit more of Steamboat Springs. We have been having such fun summer exploring Colorado. This is an incredibly beautiful place!

Tara's Wedding #Thebestdayever!

Tara and Joseph's wedding was a blast! I love spending time in Salt Lake, and being there with the Cordners made it that much better! We drove out there in two days. We stayed in Roosevelt Thursday night and then drove out to Salt Lake on Friday. I ran 8 miles Friday morning. It was so fun running around Roosevelt. I love that place. We stopped by my childhood favorite restaurant Training Table on our way into Salt Lake. Those cheesy fries and dip are something else. Yumm!

Friday afternoon we met up with Tara,Tim, Kelly, Justin and Keri in our hotel room. It was so much fun to just hang out and laugh.

Then after some naps we met up with Angell and her family and Ty and Daniella and walked over to get some dinner. It was crazy. We all have a lot of kids. And really we should never take Juliet anywhere. She is a nightmare. A very cute little nightmare.

Abby and Brinley are so cute together. I can't wait to watch these two sweet girls grow up together.
I love this picture. I love the way Tim is talking to his granddaughters. He is the most wonderful Grandpa. He adores his little granddaughters and they adore him! And don't mind Juliet's creepy eyes.

After Tara's sealing and before the luncheon we explored the temple grounds a little bit. It was absolutely amazing. It was a beautiful day and the temple grounds were incredible as usual.

An awesome worm that the girls found while we were waiting for Aunt Tara to come out of the temple.

I love these pictures of the girls hugging Tara. Juliet was SO excited to see her. She kept yelling "Its Tara!" and pointing at her. It was cracking everyone up.
Poor Skylar. Juliet just wants to love her. All. the. time.

Keep reaching for the temple Jules! Always!

I love this picture of my two girls together. They really are good friends.

The Luncheon was at the Joseph Smith Memorial Building. It was so fun to be in there. It is one of the most beautiful buildings I've ever seen. The girls were a nightmare during the luncheon. Abby wanted everyone's pink napkins and Juliet would not stay in her seat. Not for anything. But we still had a good time chatting and celebrating Tara and Joseph.

After the luncheon we walked over to the visitors center because I really wanted to show the girls the big statue of Christ. They were big fans and I'm so glad we did it.

The reception was a blast! Even though our kids were going every which way. They ate about 100 cupcakes each. And Juliet ended the night by biting Brinley. Bad. But we danced our hearts out and talked and laugh all night long. Tara is such a fun, happy person and the feeling at her reception definitely reflected that.

Sunday we went to visit Kyle's grandparents in Orem. It was so fun to visit with them and let the girls get to know them. They are the sweetest kindest people.

Then we headed out to Ioka for Sunday dinner. Keri came home with us and it was fun to show off Ioka and Roosevelt. Dinner was incredible. There is nothing quite like Sunday dinner at Grandma's house.

Feeding the baby horses (they aren't so baby like now)

Isn't that breathtaking?!

Then we headed to Roosevelt to stay the night with Grammy and Grandpy. Grammy was in the hospital with Grandpa Lynn so we kept Grandpa entertained. We rode on the golf cart and sat out in the backyard talking. It was a beautiful night. It was so nice to be able to break up the trip home like that. My girls love going to both my grandparents houses. There is so much fun stuff to do. And yummy treats to eat!

I sent this picture to my dad. My Grammy always had fruity pebbles for him, but I finished off the box.
