A lot of people go to college for 8 years...they're called Drs.

Ok so it hasn't taken me 8 years, but it sure feels like it! But I have finally registered for my final college classes. I  will be graduating this December!

Its been a long, really long, boring road. But I am so grateful for my parents and my husband that keep pushing me to complete my degree. As much as I hate school (like with a passion greater than anything) I will be so happy to have my degree.

I have actually completed all of my required classes for my degree in Human and Family development, so my last few classes consist of classes like nutrition, psychology and rock music and culture. If they offered an online version of underwater basket weaving I would be all over that too.

Its going to be a crazy last two semesters (summer, and fall) but then I will be finished FOREVER!!!

I will get my beautiful piece of paper, frame it and put it up on the wall.

I'm so close I can almost taste it.

Feel free to celebrate with me. We will be having the party of the century come December 11 up in Colorado. You will probably hear me partying clear down in Arizona!

Now if I can just keep up the motivation I feel now throughout the 8 months I will be fine!

You've had a birthday shout Hooray!

Nobody in my family got the office reference...

 It was Kyle's 25th birthday last week! And we had so much celebrating all week long!

We started out on Saturday by going to dinner with the Cordners to Tia Rosas (kyle's favorite restaurant) because Tara was in town from Idaho.

On Kyle's birthday which was Tuesday we went to Joe's Farmhouse Grille with my family so that Kyle could get a free meal for his birthday. Then we had a delicious funfetti cake that I made with my mad cake decorating skills. Watch out cake boss, I might just take over! 

Kyle got a new belt and new hair clippers so that I can keep cutting his hair, and Dr. Pepper (that was probably his favorite gift this year). I actually gave Kyle his belt a day early because I couldn't stand looking at his belt which was literally falling apart! Kyle is the lowest maintenance person which is one the things that I love most about him.

My dad got us tickets to the Diamondbacks game that Friday. We went with my parents and the cordners. It was so fun! It was Abby's first pro baseball game and I didn't get any pictures. :( Abby loved it, she had made friends with every single person around us by the time we went home. She is so friendly and hilarious.

My dad also gave Kyle some tickets to the Suns game, and offered to watch little Abby for us so we could go on a date. We had so much fun and went out to dinner at the Old Spaghetti Factory and then got sonic ice cream after the game. It was so fun to be with just kyle. I love that husband of mine and we have a really good time together!

When I went on my first date with Kyle he was 20 years old! Its been a fun crazy ride so far and it is only going to get more crazy and more fun. I love my 25 year old hunk of a husband. He is the best!

Oh and the best part about him being 25... he can now rent a car in all states and we don't have to pay an extra fee. Whoot Whoot!

She Crawls!

Abby started crawling at 10 months. She was so close for months and she finally got it. Now she is all over the place. She is getting more and more brave. She can pull herself up on things and she loves to make messes by crawling to things and pulling them out. 

She is eating everything and anything. If she sees anyone eating she now crawls over and holds her hand up asking them to give her some. She is still a small little thing breaking the scales at a massive...15lbs. But she is so strong and healthy just petite. 

We are loving this 10 month old Abby. She can wave bye bye and point at whatever she wants. She knows what I mean when I say no no (not that she always listens when I say it). 

She is sleeping through the night again! Wahoo!

She loves bath time and anytime we go outside.

She just loves to play and make me laugh. She is the most precious little thing and we just love her! I can't believe that next month she will a year old. Last year at this time I was HUGE and so ready to get this little girl out of me. Its been so fun and I look forward to more and more adventures with this new mobile Abby.

9 Months

Dear Abby, 

Its been 9 months since your sweet little face came into the world. Each of these little milestones makes me more and more overwhelmed. You are growing up, May will be here before I know it and you'll be a toddler, not my little baby. Before I start bawling I'm going to move on. These past few months have been the most fun yet. You are hilarious and we fall in love with your little personality more and more everyday.

You love to eat, you must be my little girl! Anytime that I am eating I have to make sure that you have something to munch on or you get really angry. You enjoy eating your rice cereal and after 3 months of trying and coaxing, crying (mostly from your dad) you have started taking a bottle! Its been absolutely wonderful. You are still nursing 90% of the time, but we now have the option of giving you a bottle and sneaking in those few extra calories of formula. You are still teeny tiny, and we just love it. You're in our 6-9 month clothes, I finally was able to pack up the 3-6 month clothes.

You are starting to get a little bit more hair but it is so blond you can't really tell. Your eyes are still as blue and beautiful as ever. I love it when you look up into my eyes with those baby blues and smile at me. Melts my heart every time.

You have been rocking back and forth on your hands and knees. Your hands will start moving forward, but those legs have got to learn to keep up. Hopefully you will get it soon! You will lean really far forward and then your legs will forget to follow you so you will end up on your stomach. From there you can spin around in circles and scoot backwards. You are very resourceful and can figure out how to get to something that you really want.

Your favorite thing is music. When you hear a song that you like you will start dancing. It is the cutest little thing. When we are in the car you have certain songs that you like to listen to, and we listen to them over and over and over again. When I get sick of those songs it takes some convincing to make you fall in love with a new song. You love the hymns at church, you will dance through all of them. You love it when Daddy plays the guitar and mommy and daddy sing. You love to play our piano and to listen to mommy and daddy play the piano. I think that we might have a little musician on our hands.

You are very curious, and you have a very cute little face you make every time you are trying to figure something out. You are talking all of the time and we love it. Saying ma ma, da da, ba ba, ga ga and just yelling when you get really excited. When you are playing by yourself you will talk really quietly like you are whispering to yourself. Cutest thing ever, you already have a little imagination.

We just love you little Abby. These next few months will be even more fun and I can't wait to see the new and fun things you will start to do.

Colorado Trip

Abby and I went to Colorado with Kyle for his interview. It was so fun! The pictures above are from the aquarium in Denver. We stayed with my Aunt and her family and they took us there. We all loved it! It was way cooler than any zoo I have every been to. 

The trip was an adventure. Getting to Denver was a breeze. My father-in-law is a pilot for Southwest so he gave us all buddy passes so that we could go with kyle. We were so grateful that he was able to do that for us so that I could go with him. The only bad part is we have to fly standby, but we were able to get on a wide open flight early in the morning. Abby was a sweetheart on the flight. She just played on our laps the whole way. I think she was used to it from sitting in Church for three hours. 

We spent the rest of the day relaxing in Colorado at my aunts house. Had a pizza party that night with all my little cousins. My aunt has 6 kids under the age of 9. Its a crazy party at her house. I love all of those little ones. 

Abby did not sleep well which was hard. She could tell that I was in the room with her and she just wanted to be nursing or be held. Kyle had his interview on Saturday and he rocked it. He got along really well with the guys that interviewed him. He was really impressed with the school and I was falling in love every second with Colorado. 

When Kyle got back from his interview we headed out to the aquarium and it was a blast. 

Then Sunday we got up early and headed to the airport. And that was when the biggest part of the adventure began. We were going to get on a flight that flew to Salt Lake and then catch another flight down to Phoenix. We just made the flight in Denver, and it was crazy close. We were running to the gate and were the last people on the flight. As the plane starts to pull back from the gate I see smoke coming out of the engine. Scary. They stop the plane and pull back up to the gate. About 30 minutes later they tell us the plane can't be fixed and they are putting us on another plane. By the time we switched planes and were on our way to Salt Lake we had already missed our connecting flight, which meant all the other people headed to Phoenix missed their flight too. So we didn't get on the next flight, or the next flight. We were afraid we would be stuck in Salt Lake until about 8:30 that night. Luckily Abby would fall asleep in my arms for her naps (she never does that anymore). 

The best part of the day was when my Dad and Halee and Tragdon met us at the airport. They were on their way home from my cousin's baptism. We were lucky enough to get onto the same flight as them. So at 8:30 that night we made it back to our house. We traveled for 12 hours to get from Denver to Phoenix. Thats almost how long the drive is. It was a long day.

But it was a really fun trip and I was glad that I was able to go with him!

Crazy Life!

Life has been crazy that past few weeks! January has flown by and so much has happened. 

Beginning of January we celebrated the new year with my mom's family. It was amazing how miserable it is to stay up until midnight. I have a hard time staying up late when my baby is sleeping. When she sleeps I want to be sleeping. But we had a fun time anyway. My dad set off a bunch of illegal fireworks (from Wyoming) at about 11:30 and woke up Abby so she was awake with us for the New Year. Luckily she went right back to sleep when we got home, and we zonked out too. 

I started my ASU classes on the 5th. I can't wait for the next two semester to be over. Watching Kyle graduate made me so excited for it to be my turn. Its so close I can almost taste it!

We have been busy with church stuff and have had the opportunity to have many new and old friends over to our home. I love having people in my house! Its so fun!

In the biggest news Kyle received a phone call from Midwestern University in Glendale offering him a spot in their school this fall! We are not 100% that we will be going there, but Kyle absolutely loved it so we are very happy about being accepted there.

Abby and I went to Denver with Kyle last week while he interviewed there. My aunt lives just outside of Denver so I hung out with her all weekend. I will devote an entire blog post to that trip once I get our pictures on the computer. Kyle loved that school too, but we won't find out where we stand until mid February. He had an amazing interview and he got some really good feedback from the guy that interviewed him. So we'll see how that turns out. We would love to live in Denver, it was beautiful! 

Right now Kyle is in Portland waiting for his interview tomorrow morning. Oregon would be such an adventure for us! Its going to be so interesting to see where we end up. I'm just so proud of Kyle. He has worked so hard and it is nice to see his hard work starting to pay off. 

Abby is still being cute little Abby. She has been growing so much and has started to really love eating solid food. She is slowly starting to show some interest in crawling. Sometimes I feel like she is never going to crawl but I'm sure one of these days she will surprise me. She has also decided that sleeping at night is not her favorite. She wakes up about ever 3-4 hours. She didn't even do that as a new born! Luckily she goes right back to sleep, but it still wears me out. I have decided she is much cuter during the day than she is at night. But I do enjoy those sweet moments when she falls back asleep while I'm nursing her or rocking her. She sure knows how to melt my heart.

Well that about sums up where we are right now. In the next few weeks life is going to get even more crazy but it will be good! We can't wait to find out where we are moving and get started on this next step of our lives!
